Other pests Seal food, remove trash and submit the appropriate facilities request

Routine maintenance

  1. Open the GCU Student Portal.
  2. Go to My Housing.
  3. Submit a Facilities Request with the room, exact problem and photographs when useful.
  4. Keep the confirmation or request number.
  5. Do not attempt a repair that could cause injury or more damage.

Urgent housing hazard

For flooding, major power loss, exposed electrical danger, smoke, a dangerous leak or another condition that cannot wait:

  1. Move away from the immediate hazard.
  2. Contact the RA on-call or Residence Life.
  3. Contact Public Safety when there is an urgent safety risk.
  4. Call 911 for immediate danger, fire or serious injury.
  5. Photograph the condition only when it is safe.

Locked out

Contact the RA on-call or Resident Director and have your student ID available.

Lockouts can result in a Residence Life charge. The current handbook does not publish one universal amount; confirm the process and any charge with the staff member assisting you. Residence Life can assist during weekday business hours. Public Safety is for an urgent safety or health risk, not a routine lockout.

When a charge appears incorrect, use the current Housing Portal dispute process within the deadline shown in the notice.
