Federal Work-Study
Federal Work-Study is financial-aid eligibility for certain jobs; it does not guarantee employment.
- Check your current financial-aid award.
- Check whether the specific posting requires or accepts FWS.
- Some campus jobs are FWS, some are non-FWS and some accept either.
- Confirm eligibility with your Student Services Counselor or the hiring team before relying on FWS income.
Paychecks and taxes
When starting a job:
- Complete onboarding and Form W-4 only through the verified employer system.
- Confirm whether you are an employee or independent contractor.
- Set up direct deposit only in the real payroll portal.
- Review the first pay stub for pay rate, hours and deductions.
