Fall and spring breaks
Students may generally remain in housing during fall and spring breaks, but dining and campus services can reduce hours or close.
Before staying:
- Confirm the building remains open.
- Check dining, mail, transportation and office hours.
- Tell roommates about the plan.
- Secure valuables when others leave.
- Confirm any guest restrictions.
Christmas Break
Ordinary housing closes for Christmas Break.
- Students with a spring housing booking may generally leave belongings under the current instructions.
- Fall-only students or students without spring housing must fully check out by December 20, 2026 under the dates currently listed in the guide.
- Overnight guest privileges are unavailable during early move-in, Christmas Break and spring extension.
- North Rim residents currently must return the key before Christmas Break; the published fine listed in the guide is $50 when it is not returned.
